The approximate 200 gallons of water in the float tank is filtered between each float session for 20 minutes to achieve a three log reduction at 48 gpm, this is to ensure a safe and clean environment. Our system filters the Epsom Salt solution through a 1-micron filter, which is then exposed to UV light (UV-C), and ozone. In addition we use a pharmaceutical grade H2O2 in combination with our filtration system. As a result, Hydroxyl radicals are created through this filtration process which destroys bacteria, pathogens, viruses, and chlorine resistant microorganisms. This also allows us to maintain our water in immaculate condition without using harsh chemicals.
Disinfection is also inherent as the concentration of the salt water solution is approximately 18% salt. It has been shown in scientific literature that pathogenic microorganism cannot survive in concentrations higher than 10% salt.
We take pride in our commitment to our community to set and uphold the highest standards of health and safety for the Delaware float community. As Delaware’s first float center, we were honored and privileged to work hand-in-hand with Delaware Health and Social Services (DHSS) for 7 months to set the precedent for safety and sanitation on both the state and county levels.
